Buenos Aires, April 8 (NA) – River Plate will visit Blooming of Bolivia this Wednesday in a match corresponding to the first matchday of Group H of the Copa Sudamericana. The club from Núñez will return to this competition after 11 years.
The match, scheduled for 21:30, will take place at the Ramón Aguilera Costas Stadium. It will be covered live by the Noticias Argentina Agency and can be watched on DSports. The referee will be Colombian Andrés Rojas, and his compatriot David Rodríguez will be in charge of VAR.
River arrives at this new edition of the Copa Sudamericana with maximum confidence, having won the four matches it has played since Eduardo 'Chacho' Coudet became its head coach. Additionally, it has managed to position itself well in the Torneo Apertura, where it occupies second place in Zone B with 23 points, only three less than the leader, the surprising Independiente Rivadavia from Mendoza.
River's only title in the Copa Sudamericana came in 2014, in that unforgettable conquest where they eliminated Boca in the semifinals with the remembered penalty that Marcelo Barovero saved against Emmanuel Gigliotti, to then defeat Atlético Nacional of Colombia in the final.
A year later, the last participation of the 'Millionaire' in this competition took place in the 2015 edition, where they fell to Huracán in the semifinals.
